Welcome from the President

Dear Alumni members

A warm greeting to all of you.  It is my great pleasure to write to you again.  Since September 06, I have had the privilege of working with a very committed and energetic MUAAS Committee.  Together we have organized a number of activities to strengthen the relationship and networking amongst the alumni members.

In December 06, we managed to have nearly 200 participants under Monash banner for the Standard Chartered Marathon.  In February this year, 80 fellow alumni attended our Networking dinner in which Mr John Kearsey (Divisional Director from Monash Alumni office) flew in from Australia to represent the University while we also had representatives from Australian Embassy and TMC.  

Just recently in May we had a combined seminar and get-together in Malacca with the Malaysian Monash Alumni Group. The 2-day weekend event had 20 participants from MUAAS and another 10 participants from Malaysian alumni.  Mr Kearsey again flew in from Australia to facilitate the seminar and drew up long term objectives and programmes for both the alumni organisations to work with the University Alumni Office.

MUAAS will be organising more programmes in the coming months and is keen to have more member’s participation.  We have also revamped the MUAAS web site so that we can be connected with you regularly and update you with on events and programmes.  Coming up in July, we plan to have a Members Night, a Cocktail Event in September immediately preceding the graduation ceremony in Singapore and the Marathon Run in December.

Once again I thank you for your support to the MUAAS and we look forward to your continued linkage and participation for our programmes in strengthening and improving the alumni.
